The design of this mixed use plot draws from the notion of architectural lanterns that are iconic and at the same time abstract. The two 50-meter tall office towers are designed as cubic volumes that stand in contrast to the slender towers and horizontal crescent podiums nearby. A two to three story low rise building are interconnected with the two primary towers in ways that form semi enclosed spaces. Together with a series of site walls, these semi enclosed spaces become welcoming arrival plazas and contemplative courtyards. Perched on top of the low rise volumes are two mini lanterns that complement the larger cubes and complete the composition. From the south, one enters the site on center with one of the mini lanterns and split off for either tenant. From the north, a discrete secondary entrance is provided through and under the bridge of the low rise podium. While the larger primary lanterns, one grounded and one floating above the podium, are articulated in a diaphanous facade of glass and metal, the podium and mini lanterns are designed with a palette of fine stone, large pieces of glass, and accents of wood. Together the solidity of the exquisite stone facade becomes the perfect anchor and compliment for the translucent lantern facade.
